Are contingency fees legal in Sweden?
Generally not. The Swedish Bar Association's code of conduct does not allow a fee that depends on the outcome of the case, except in special circumstances. The Group Proceedings Act allows court-approved risk agreements in class actions, and legal expenses cover in home insurance often pays much of a lawyer's fees.
