Who pays if I lose a case in Ireland?

Costs usually follow the event: the loser is normally ordered to pay the winner's legal costs under section 169 of the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015, which can be substantial in the High Court. A no foal, no fee agreement with your own solicitor does not cover that risk by itself.
