No win, no fee in England and Wales
Conditional fee agreements and damages-based agreements are both allowed, with caps on what the lawyer can take, for example 25% of damages in personal injury. Most contract and negligence claims must start within 6 years, and personal injury claims within 3 years of the injury or of when you knew about it. Most claims up to £10,000 go to the small claims track, where each side usually pays its own legal costs.
