Are contingency fees legal in Colombia?

Yes. Colombian lawyers commonly agree fees as a percentage of the result (cuota litis), often combined with a fixed amount. The Disciplinary Code for Lawyers (Ley 1123 de 2007) sanctions fees that are disproportionate to the work done, so the percentage must stay reasonable. Put the agreement in writing before the work starts.
