Are contingency fees legal in Singapore?

Mostly no. Contingency fees remain prohibited under the Legal Profession Act 1966, but since 2022 conditional fee agreements are allowed for international and domestic arbitration, certain proceedings in the Singapore International Commercial Court and related mediation. Under these, the lawyer is paid fully or partly only if the claim succeeds.
