Contingency and success fees in Spain

18 hand-verified firms that list Spain say on their own website that they offer contingency or success fees. The lawyer is paid a share of what you recover, or a fee that is due only if the case succeeds (including CFAs, DBAs, cuota litis and Erfolgshonorar).

Fees in Spain
Success-based fee agreements (cuota litis) have been allowed since the Bar's ban was struck down in 2008, so lawyers can agree a percentage of the result, often combined with a smaller fixed fee. In court, the losing party may be ordered to pay a share of the winner's costs.
Litigation funding in Spain
Third-party funding is not specifically regulated and is used mainly in larger commercial, competition and collective cases. The market is growing but smaller than in the UK or US.
